World Premiere of Speaking in Code
Finally the wait is over.
After four years in the making, sQuare productions is proud to announce the world premiere of its feature-length documentary, Speaking in Code, will happen right here where it got its feet–in Boston.
Independent Film Festival Boston is the the city’s biggest and best film festival. Now in its seventh year, its hostedt some of the biggest names in the business and this year it expands its venue list to include the Institute of Contemporary Art, Coolidge Corner Theatre, the Brattle Theatre and the Davis Square’s historic Somerville Theatre.
Speaking in Code will premiere Thursday, April 23rd at 7pm in the big theatre at the Somerville Theatre. Individual tickets go on sale in early April and we’ll obviously tell you the instant those tickets are available, but the $180 full film pass is available right now. The pass not only gets you into see Speaking in Code, but any of the over 50 other films that will screen this year. Buy your film pass here.
It’s an honor to not only be a part of a great festival, but to have a world premiere in the city where much of our support has come from. There are literally hundreds of people who have helped us along the way, and we sincerely hope you can all make it to Davis Square on April 23rd. This is the same theatre where U2 recently played, so it should be able to fit everyone.
After-party to follow at Make It New with DJs Billy Kiely, Six Million Dollar Dan, Baltimoroder and David Day.
Stay tuned to this blog for more information regarding individual tickets. Sign up for the IFFBoston email list here, or find out the second tickets go on sale by following co-producer David Day on Twitter. He’ll surely let you know.
Of course, we’ll never blog without some music, so here’s a few songs and mixes from people who are in the movie.
Sascha Funke - A Mango Cookie (DJ Koze’s Pink Moon Remix)
DJ Koze rocked our socks off at Total 6, where we were the honored guests of the Kompakt family. With a room full to the brim with smoke machine fog, Koze nearly brought the house down. Here’s one of his recently heralded remixes.
Triola - Leuchtturmm (Wighnomy’s Polarzipper Remxi)
A classic from the Kompakt catalog sees the Wighnomy Brothers, one of the most beloved DJ duos in the world, take their scalpel to Triola, one of the ambient wizards the Koln label.
Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts - They Only Come Out at Night (Horror Inc Remix)
Guillaume was a friend of the film, but Akufen literally named it. Here he is returning under his Horror Inc. guise to remix Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, a project only getting started in 2005, now a farily big deal. Guillaume also has a much-loved remix from our consulting producer, Philip Sherburne.
Akufen - Live at the Bunker, New York City
A DJ set from Akufen recorded livein Brooklyn last year at Bryan Kasenic’s Bunker night. Bryan helped us out a lot and Akufen, well, you know.
Sascha Funke - Live at Beta Lounge, Hamburg
Recorded only 12 days ago, our friend Sascha Funke plays in a slow, mellow techno style that is just the thing we dig. Amongst 10 other cities, Hamburg was one locale Speaking in Code stopped into.

Hey, just noticed that your download link immediately after the video actually links to the wrong song. The same download link at the end of the post is correct however.

The food on Samui Island is delicious and cheap, the bays are white and all the locals we met were very friendly and eager to advice use. We stayed at Bophut- a completely different place to the hectic tourist trap at Chaweng.
