Make It New Again
Two days until the Make It New 2nd anniversary party at the Middlesex Lounge. We have three guests, one of whom is already in town, staying down at the loft tonight. Thursday, Chris Jones a/k/a Yard and the DFA’s Juan Maclean come through for a great night of new techno sound.
Yard reached out on a bit of a whim. A head from Chicago, Mr. Jones has been on his grind promoting that good stuff for years — so we felt a kinship right away. He’s recorded for artronic labels like Autechre’s Skam records and that Plong! label from Germany. His DJ sets are right up our alley too. Here’s one playlist:
Daniel Meteo-music ohne sound
Oxtongue-Delight
Solenoid-Night Beach
Smash TV-Yello Astroids
Alex Under-Cerebrales Para El Desayuno
Damian Scwartz-R y F 2
Monolake-Alaska

Ellen Allien & Apparat-Way Out (Rohag Wruhme Vati Mafonkk Remikks)

Jones will jump off first in the night, followed by the outstanding live set of Popnoname, and onto DJ Juan Maclean, who just finished a party-action DFA US tour where he DJed alongside luminaries like James Murphy and Tim Sweeney.
As we mentioned, local techno-lover, game theorist and pro photographer Ricardo Delima will be set up outside with a street studio to take your picture upon entrance. That’s his pic above. His website is here. The custom set up will look something like this, only smaller. Your pic will be posted online and will be free of charge.
Yard will also drop some original science. His tracks are a little more on the abstract tip, but are clearly inspired by our own inspirations. Here’s his latest:
Come out Thursday, wear some clean clothes, bring one Lincoln for entrance and enjoy yourself. This is all about you and your two years of support.
Thank you.

While the track listing looks great, the link to the Yard mix is dead.
